WHERE I COME FROM
Richard M. Amegatse spent most of his childhood and teenage years in Akosombo, Ghana, where he was born on August 15, 1988. His father, Mr. Reuben Huze Amegatse, was a worker at the Volta River Authority and a prince of Anlo, while his mother, Elizabeth Setordzi, was the daughter of a High Court judge and a businesswoman.
Richard's paternal grandfather is Torgbui Sarbah III, the Paramount Chief of Dzita in the Anlo traditional area, and his paternal grandmother is Mary Yaovi from Keta Dzelukope, who is a sister of Victoria, the mother of former President J.J. Rawlings. Richard's father also has blood ties to the Bekai family of Akwamufie, and Richard's father is a cousin of the former President of Ghana, His Excellency J.J. Rawlings.
Richard's maternal grandfather is Justice Setordzi from Agbozume, and his maternal grandmother is Patience Doe from Sogakope, of the Doe family. His maternal grandfather’s mother (great-grandmother) was from Sokoban in Kumasi, Ashanti Region, and his maternal grandmother’s mother (great-grandmother) was from Agona Swedru in the Central Region.So Richard is from a multi-ethnic background.
Richard has one biological sister, Ruby Horlai Amegatse, who is a midwife by profession, and 12 other step-siblings from different ethnic backgrounds, including Krobo, Ashanti, and Ga.
ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
Richard M. Amegatse is a petroleum engineer with academic backgrounds in environmental science and nuclear engineering. He attended Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), where he was admitted twice: first for a BSc in Environmental Science and later for a BSc in Petroleum Engineering. At KNUST, he was affiliated with Republic Hall and Unity Hall. He was also admitted to the University of Ghana, Legon, and the National University of Singapore to pursue a PhD in Nuclear Engineering and a Graduate Certificate in Offshore Technology, respectively. Additionally, he trained in cybersecurity with Google and Financial Intelligence with Harvard Business School Online. Before his degree studies, he studied non-degree certificate courses in Law and Criminal Justice at the Criminal Justice University College (formerly) and in Marketing from the University of Professional Studies.

The current political class has failed us, clinging to power while our nation's potential remains untapped. But I, Richard M. Amegatse, stand before you today with a vision: to transform Ghana into a first-world nation.We will achieve this through a systematic and fundamental approach, drawing inspiration from the success of Singapore. Here’s how:

2. Economic Diversification: We will move beyond our reliance on raw materials and build a diversified economy. We will foster innovation, support local businesses, and attract foreign investment to create jobs and opportunities.

4. Infrastructure Development: We will modernize our infrastructure, including roads, transportation, and digital networks, to support economic growth and improve the quality of life,etc.
